About

Despite the EP moniker, Vulgarian’s 2024 release clocks in at nearly a half hour. The three songs on Eye for an Eye for an Eye are a glimpse of the approach to Vulgarian’s upcoming full-length release: slower slow parts, faster fast parts. This release paves the way towards new material that is almost entirely composed of grindcore riffs and/or funeral doom dirges.

Hateful sludge bloated with the DNA of slow, stagnant doom which takes you right back to the glory days of the 90’s. The atmosphere of this release is loathsome.

– Anointing the Sick

About

“End Stage” is VULGARIAN’s second full-length album, releasing September 28, 2023 with a show at Hi-Dive (Denver, CO – support by GRIEF RITUAL, WATCHING PEOPLE DROWN). Compared to their previous full-length effort “Human Scum” (2020), the music on “End Stage” takes more influences from southern sludge and integrates the band’s crust punk and doom metal roots in a more cohesive fashion. The lyrical content is also broader, featuring critical commentary on the various facets of “late stage” capitalism.

“End Stage” was produced entirely in-house during the summer of 2023, recorded and engineered in Golden, Colorado by Thomas Horner (drums).

About

Trauma features the eponymous d-beat song that has been a fan favorite and setlist staple for years. The B-side track You’re Worse swerves hard into doom metal territory.

Lineup Changes

  • Bass: Kevin (2018-2022) → Adam

About

The Rot starts to get away from the more mid-paced style found on previous releases, thanks in part to a heavy injection of riffs from a new guitarist. All songs but Frail Blue Line would later appear with minimal changes on the End Stage album.

Lineup Changes

  • Guitar: First release that Bradley appears on.

About

Human Scum is Vulgarian’s first full-length album. At the time, the band’s material had a slight black metal influence and was more mid-paced and technical.
